 Rules

The Gist:

In this unconventional take on go fish, all players are trying to satisfy the needs of 2 Beach Kwesters. Collect goods by asking other players for them. For example, "Zeke, you got any smokes?" you ask. Then Zeke either hands over the smokes he's got, or tells you to Go Fish if he hasn't got any, in which case you draw a card from the pile. When you have a Beach Kwester card, and 3 of the goods they are craving collected, you can lay them down as a stash. Complete 2 stashes to win the round, but, beware! You can't lay down any stashes if you're holding a Black Spot. You must get rid of the Black Spot by slyly slipping it to an unsuspecting opponent when they ask you for some goodies...

Start:

Each player is dealt 8 cards. The player to the left of the dealer starts and play continues clockwise. If you do not wish to ask another player for anything, you may draw a card from the pile as your turn. If the draw pile is finished, play continues without a draw pile until someone wins!

More than 4 players- deal only 4 cards per player, and make 1 stash to win, and play with 2 Black Spots in the deck!

Extra Cards:

Black Spot- A pirate's death sentence. If a player is holding a Black Spot in their hand, they cannot lay down a stash. It is recommended to remove 1 black spot if playing with 4 or less players. Remove both from the deck if ya like, what do I care.

Police- The fuzz is around every corner and everyone knows everyone on a small island like Key West, so there's no use trying to talk your way out of anything. a Police card is used to get a Beach Kwester card off of someone. They can choose which Kwester to hand over, but they have to hand one over if they have one. All other cards remain in their hand. If the person asked doesn't have a Kwester card in their hand, the police is plum outta luck. Either way, once played the police card goes back on the bottom of the draw pile.

Wild Smiley- This is a wild card that can be played as any type of goods. So, if you are trying to collect 3 drinks and you only have 2, a wild smiley is laid down in your stash to make the third drink. Once laid down, the wild smiley remains with its stash.

Swap Hands- Use this card to trade entire hands with someone. So you say "Hey, Freshy, gimme your hand!" ...and the two of you trade cards. Any stashes that players have remain on the table with them, but every card in their hand is swapped. It's a good way to get rid of a bad hand or a couple black spots... After being played, this card is returned to the bottom of the draw pile.

Reverse Direction- This card is played to reverse the direction of play. Use this to thwart an opponent who is on the brink of victory! After being played, this card is returned to the bottom of the draw pile.

Shady Spot- Sometimes Key Westers just need a break from their strenuous life of not doing too much. A Shady Spot is played defensively when someone asks you for something you just don't want to give up, or the Police are trying to take your Kwester. Save yourself, then return this card to the bottom of the draw pile.
